14-19 Diplomas - 5th National Conference (Neil Stewart Associates)
Event Date: 22/09/2010

Central London

The delivery of the Diploma has brought new opportunities for young learners in their progression to higher education or skilled employment, but it has also brought new challenges for consortia across the UK. New qualifications will be added in phase 3 from September 2010 and the participation age will be raised from 2013.

As the 14-19 Reforms are now well under way, schools, consortia, strategic partnerships and other learning providers have to work together to meet the growing demand of Diploma delivery, the teaching and assessment of functional skills, as well as meeting the skills requirements of higher education institutions and employers.

This original independent examination of Diplomas, now in its fifth year, will bring together leaders, experts and professionals responsible for the 14-19 Diploma.

Further Education & Skills Inspection conference (Neil Stewart Associates)
Event Date: 12/10/2010

Attend to hear over 8 college principals speak on the current inspection framework and how it has affected them.

From 2009, inspection and regulation of the FE and Skills sector has changed, as set out in The Common Inspection Framework for further education and skills.

One year on, this conference will examine how providers can improve performance, value for money and effectively meet the needs of their learners.

New criteria, including safeguarding and the equality and diversity impact assessment, new rules regarding shorter notice of an inspection, and new guidelines on self-assessment make it essential that you are 'inspection ready' at all times.

This insightful and practical conference brings together experts and leaders from FE colleges and training providers from across the UK to share ideas and experiences, evaluate the past year and promote continuous improvement and constant inspection readiness.

Academies National Conference (Neil Stewart Associates)
Event Date: 13/10/2010

Central London

In one of the first acts of the new coalition government the Secretary of State for Education Michael Gove wrote to all head teachers of schools graded "outstanding" by Ofsted, letting them know that they would be automatically approved and inviting them to consider acquiring academy status from September 2010.

Over 1,700 schools have indicated an interest in acquiring academy status. Questions remain about funding, human resources and how admissions will work in practice. Announcements are expected over the summer and this conference will provide a timely examination of the latest funding, content and logistical details for all those tasked with strategic planning and implementation to get right up to date and prepare with confidence.
